Event Details
Amita Riksen's talk will focus on Strategic Investing with an emphasis on embedding social responsibility into natural resource capital deployment. We will explore how sustainable transformation is made through collaboration.
This will be a hybrid event (in-person and online).
Food and drinks will be provided for those attending in-person.

Bio
Amita Riksen is a recognized expert in international investments, portfolio strategy and innovation in the energy and natural resources sector. Her career since 1999 has spanned living and working on 5 continents in roles across the UK, Singapore, Nigeria, the United States and Australia. Amita most recently held executive roles as Managing Director with Accenture’s Global Energy Group, Vice President of Corporate Growth and Innovation at RioTinto and as Managing Director at PriceWaterHouseCoopers. Amita also held leadership roles as Legislative Counsel for Shell in Nigeria and Commercial Manager for ExxonMobil Production Company and has authored papers on the “Art of Alliances” serving as a global expert in Joint Ventures and Strategic Alliances for PWC.
Amita qualified the English Bar in 2000 and is a member of The Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
In addition to the law, Amita also holds an MBA in Corporate Finance and Economics from University of Chicago and a Master of Science in Engineering from Stanford University. Prior to admission, Amita worked in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions with a top strategy consulting firm in central London. Amita started her career as a reservoir engineer exploring and developing petroleum resources in the North Sea, Arctic and the US.
As a mother of two children, wife of a Dutch national and daughter of Indian immigrants to America, Amita’s passion for globalization and business development comes from a deep desire to create meaningful change for people. As a leader and business professional, Amita is driven to forging a path for educated women, creating new ways of working and embedding respect for diversity of thought and culture in the corporate sector.
While continuing to pioneer global energy solutions and impact investments, Amita has expanded her personal impact through community leadership spearheading the development of two internationally accredited hospitals in Sub-Saharan Africa and structuring of a healthcare delivery model in Nigeria. She supports community sectors in international education, communications infrastructure, healthcare and housing solutions in remote and rural areas.
