A nationwide move for developing the “whole student”—with attention to mind, body, and spirit —invites us to re-frame educational goals for students, from simply acquiring knowledge and skills for a profession to that plus developing inner resources and skills for creating meaningful lives and communities.

In this session, we will discuss the pedagogy of Lifeworks, a program designed for achieving holistic student development, and how its strategies might be adopted in courses across the curriculum. We will share some evaluation data as well as take attendees through examples of combining traditional scholarly inquiry with creative expression and contemplative and other embodied practices.

For questions, or accommodations, please contact Kritika Yegnashankaran at kyegnashankaran@stanford.edu.
