Fentanyl Awareness Day 2025| Take Action. Save a Life!

Sponsored by

This event is over.

Event Details:

The PEERs are hosting National Fentanyl Awareness Day on Tuesday, April 29th!

National Fentanyl Awareness day was started in 2022 to recognize the growing risks that fentanyl poses to our communities. The PEERs have organized this event to share the many ways we can reduce those risks and keep our communities safe.

This year Fentanyl Awareness Day is part of a larger effort to recognize Mental Health Awareness Month in May, and to draw attention to the intersection of substance use and mental health.

Fentanyl Awareness Day is co-sponsored by a number of student organizations doing work to combat the opioid epidemic including ChemX,  Cardinal Recovery as well as professional staff (CAPS). There will be tables with giveaways including a raffle for one of 5 Fentanyl Awareness Day Owala bottles, harm reduction resources including free testing kits and free Narcan, and information about campus community resources such as Cardinal Recovery. PEERs will also be facilitating a Narcan training to teach participants how to reverse an opioid overdose.

  • Tabling begins at 11:30AM and ends at 2:00 PM
  • FREE Naloxone training from 12:00-1:00 PM: all participants will receive free naloxone afterwards (as well as the opportunity to join a raffle!)
  • SafeDance Demonstration: 1:00-2:00 PM

Fentanyl Awareness Day is open to all students, faculty, staff, and Stanford affiliates. We hope to see you there!
