On May 7th, Stanford Libraries will host the Estonian musical duo Puuluup on campus. In connection with their concert, a new film about the band’s formation and rise to fame, Puuluup: Cables in the Car (Puuluup: Kaablid Autos Veel) will be shown in Green Library. The film screening will be followed by a Q&A with the band’s members, Ramo Teder and Marko Veisson.

Puuluup: Cables in the Car is a humorous and poetic music documentary about two middle-aged musicians who are bringing the long-forgotten talharpa instrument to world stages. Dry humor, absurd situations, and “neo-zombie-post-folk” music intertwine in a portrait where the glory of the stage clashes with everyday life and fatherhood. The film proves that late success can be the sweetest.

Puuluup’s concert will be from 7 pm to 8:30 pm on May 7th at COHO.
