Session Description: Gender and women’s studies should be front and centre when scholars investigate, cogitate, and write about coups in the discipline of politics, since coups are decidedly gendered operations, with respect to their motivations, justifications, enactments, and aftermaths. Gender analysis opens our purview to a significant and instructive (gendered) politics of coups, which many scholars tend to miss or consider inconsequential.
Hosted on Zoom. RSVP here.
