Event Details:

What are the implications of the meteoric rise of generative AI technologies for authors, researchers, publishing, and the future of access to information?  Join us for this event with Dave Hansen, Executive Director of Authors Alliance, who will present on how generative AI systems affect authors, serving both as powerful creative tools and potential disruptions. Focusing on copyright and related legal issues, Dave will explain the legal framework that applies to generative AI technologies and will offer insights on open questions about generative AI and copyright for authors.

This in-person workshop will take place from 12PM - 1PM with an optional Q&A session from 1 PM - 1:30PM. Lunch will be provided during the Q&A. Please register to attend.

Dave Hansen is Executive Director of Authors Alliance, where he focused on lowering legal barriers for authors who seek to benefit the public by disseminating their works widely. He previously served as Lead for Copyright and Information Policy and as an Associate University Librarian at Duke University.
