DESCRIPTION:Jazz virtuoso George Brooks and Indian classical music star Mah
esh Kale once again bring their popular collaboration to the Stanford Jazz
Festival\, reuniting to blend jazz energy and Indian ragas and rhythms in
a performance that transcends cultural and musical barriers. Mahesh’s v
oice is incredibly beautiful\, and his mastery of Indian classical music i
s astonishing — but his connection with George opens the door to unbridl
ed creativity. George is one of the top jazz musicians around\, but his li
fe-long devotion to Indian classical music adds a dimension to his interac
tions with Mahesh that is full of joy. Mahesh and George are joined by fou
r fantastic musicians\, all of whom are pioneers of a variety of musical f
usion: Utsal Lal\, the Raga Pianist\; Mayookh Bhaumik\, tabla master and e
lectronic music master\; Julian Coryell\, guitar virtuoso and son of the l
ate Larry Coryell\; and Scott Amendola\, the legendary Bay Area drummer. T
his magical performance of otherworldly sounds delights the audience in th
e sold-out auditorium every year\, so get your tickets early.\n\nThis even
