We are excited to invite you to a joint Center for Conservation Biology (CCB) & Natural Capital Project (NatCap) seminar on March 21, 2023, from 1:00 - 2:30 pm (PT). This guest talk and Q&A session will feature Iseult Sheehy, executive coordinator of Natural Capital Ireland.
Natural Capital Ireland is a collaborative project with 1000+ other organizations and individuals from academia and public, private, and NGO sectors. The project aims to develop an understanding of Ireland's natural capital —such as forests, waterways, and wildlife— and the benefits it provides to people and the economy.
Natural Capital Ireland conducts research to quantify and value Ireland's natural capital and the benefits it provides, such as clean water, climate regulation, and recreational opportunities. The project also aims to develop approaches and capacity for incorporating natural capital into decision-making processes in Ireland, promoting informed public and private sector decision-making, and assisting in the establishment of Ireland’s natural capital accounting standard.
Iseult Sheehy currently works with the sustainability team at Trinity College in Dublin, where she also earned a Master's in Sustainable Development and a BA in Economics and Political Science. Before becoming a sustainability professional, Iseult worked in the creative sector in Ireland and Australia, across the music, theater, and fashion industries.
Please register for the seminar. The meeting will be presented in a webinar format. We invite attendees to submit questions for the guest speaker through the Q&A box. We hope you can join us for this informative and engaging discussion!
