As K-12 schooling and teacher education respond to growing calls aimed at reconciling colonial histories of schooling in settler countries such as Canada, the US, Australia, and New Zealand, educators need to consider what it means to live in 'right relations' with Indigenous people. This presentation focuses on a rights-based approach for advancing Indigenous priorities in classrooms and schools that attend to the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and its implementation in British Columbia, Canada, as an exemplar.
