Event Details:
Dear Stanford Community,
We are building a community of practice at Stanford around Inclusivity and Belonging in Field Education. We are bringing together staff, students, and faculty from across the university who teach, support, and participate in academic field trips and experiential learning more broadly. As part of a larger CTL funded effort, we are convening a kick-off event about Inclusivity in Field Education on Sept 20 and invite you all to participate.
This kick-off event will focus on community building and getting to know others across the university working on similar issues. Attendees will share experiences, ideas, and resources around various potential challenges in field education such as economic barriers, lack of prior outdoor experience, feeling unwelcome and unable to learn in outdoor spaces, and many others. We hope the community will become a forum for sharing ideas and resources, workshopping potential solutions, and advocating more broadly for inclusive field education.
