Event Details:
In the exploration of her complex relationship with her mother, grandmother, and herself, Lisa Do’s Generational Patterns revisits buried memories and navigates through contrasting behaviors and emotions on display ⎯ hatred and love, avoidance and intimacy, neglect and validation. With this series, Do performs a close examination of the interdependence between her parent and child bond, and the slow process of overcoming generational trauma through storytelling to journey into new beginnings.
Lisa Do is a senior majoring in Art Practice and a cohort of the Honors Art Program 2024-2025. She focuses on telling stories (often personal or borrowing from mythological narratives) through figurative oil paintings and mixed media.
