Lisa Forssell will discuss her role as Municipal Utility Commissioner with the City of Palo Alto, Calif. Palo Alto's owns its own electric power, water, gas, wastewater, and fiber utility. This gives the City a unique ability to serve its customers as well as tools to meet its climate goals. At the same time, our local utility faces unique challenges. I’ll give a perspective from the Commission charged with providing advice and oversight on the public benefit, environmental implications, and $300M+ budget of utilities initiatives and projects.
