Event Details:
We are very pleased to invite you to the next materia event: a conversation with multimedia artist Denilson Baniwa in light of our yearly theme of metabolisms.
Breaking paradigms and opening paths for prominence, Baniwa has consolidated himself as a key reference for indigenous people in Brazil and for contemporary Latin American art writ large. In ReAnthropophagy, Baniwa questions the notion of anthropophagy while appropriating and decolonizing Western languages in his work.
This event will give us an opportunity to converse with Baniwa about his artistic vision and thought. Professor Diana Klinger (Stanford/PUCP) will facilitate.
The readings to compliment the session will be sent a week prior to the 5th to those who confirm attendance.
We look forward to seeing you there!
