“Climate Change and the Politics of Difference”

This talk develops the argument of One Planet, Many Worlds: The Climate Parallax (2023), an exploration of the temporal and intellectual fault lines that mark the collapse of the global and the planetary in human history.

Dipesh Chakrabarty teaches in History and South Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago. His influential publications include Provincializing Europe: Postcolonial Thought and Historical Difference (2008) and The Climate of History in a Planetary Age (2021).
