Event Details:

Come meet new and old friends at our Coffee Convo, while celebrating Native American-Indigenous heritage month at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability!

We will have a fun community coffee hour with pastries, including scones, donuts, and muffins along with book prizes. We will hear from current students in SDSS about the importance of community engagement, outreach, and awareness regarding Native & Indigenous communities.

We will welcome student leader, Koa Chang from the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) Chapter at Stanford University to hear about the work the organization does to create a more inclusive culture at Stanford for students in STEM. Stanford AISES aims to substantially increase the representation of American Indian and Alaskan Native students in engineering, science, and other related technology disciplines by promoting a learning atmosphere that encourages professionalism and academic success. Additionally, we will hear from Dr. Kimberly Yazzie (Postdoctoral Scholar, Earth System Science) from the Woods Institute for the Environment.

If you need a disability-related accommodation, please contact José Rubio-Zepeda no later than Friday, November 1 via email: jdrubzep@stanford.edu.
