New Outlook for Cleaning Up Stanford’s Building Stock

Sponsored by

Event Details:

Stanford burns fossil fuels on campus in more than 200 buildings.  Working with Stanford students involved in the campus Living Laboratory for Sustainability, Gerry Hamilton has led an expensive study of what upgrades would be needed to each of those buildings — and how to pursue that endeavor.  This will be the first briefing offered to the campus community of the results, showing where upgrades will be easiest and most affordable — and which challenges need more attention to solve.

We will also hear from Pierre Delforge, co-founder of Harvest Thermal, inventor of the most efficient residential energy system for the ubiquitous services of hot water and space heating. Harvest Thermal systems also are smart enough to dispatch when electricity is both cheap and clean.
