Sponsored by

This event is over.

Event Details:

Long before Horkheimer and Adorno’s critique in Dialectic of Enlightenment (1944) and the advent of feminist, postcolonial, and Black Studies scholarship, “the Enlightenment” as an era and epistemological praxis was criticized for its hypocrisies, exclusions, and willful blindness. Prof. Christy Pichichero will discuss her scholarly trajectory as a specialist/critic of the Enlightenment and engage students in thinking about how to transform traditional academic fields
