​Join us on Wed. January 28th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Hartley Conference room (Mitchell Earth Sciences Building) for a panel on Belonging in the Field where we'll explore the questions on how we can make field work more inclusive and welcoming and the barriers that need to be addressed to achieve this ideal learning environment. 

​The event will start with coffee and pastries from 9:30-10:00am and the panel beginning at 10am. 

​We will be joined by panelists: 

• ​Rodolfo Dirzo | Bing Professor in Environmental Science | Biology and Earth Systems Science Depts. 
• ​Ayla Pamukcu | Assistant Professor | Earth and Planetary Sciences Dept. 
• ​Quinn Parker | PhD Candidate | Oceans Dept. 
• ​Jason Navarro-Lopez | Undergraduate Student | Earth and Planetary Sciences Dept. 

​Panelists will share their thoughts and advice on what it means to find belonging in the field.

​The panelist will be moderated by Ryan Petterson (Director of Field Education) and remarks provided by Argenta Price (Lecturer and Teaching and Learning Specialist) and Lupe Carrillo (Assistant Dean for Access, Belonging & Community) at the Doerrr School of Sustainability.
