SESSION DESCRIPTION
This session will familiarize the audience with current treatment approaches for upper airway obstruction and feeding problems. We will also present recent evidence on the effectiveness of a functional treatment approach centered around a modified palatal plate that opens the airway and allows infants to breathe freely and gain weight normally while fed by mouth.
EDUCATION GOALS
To have knowledge of current treatment approaches for infants with Robin sequence (RS)
To understand the main clinical problems encountered in infants with RS
To gain knowledge on a new, functional treatment paradigm to RS and its advantages over traditional approaches
To sensitze the audience for the importance of mandibular catch-up growth in RS
