Please join Stanford Public Humanities for a celebration of the new book Pitch Craft: The Writer’s’ Guide to Getting Agented, Published, and Paid by Laura Goode. 

Goode is the Public Humanities’ Associate Director for Student Programs, Lecturer in English and Feminist, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and winner of the 2025 Walter J. Gores Award for excellence in teaching. Pitch Craft draws on Goode’s experience as a novelist, poet, essayist, filmmaker, and creator of Stanford’s Pitching and Publishing for Popular Media course to uncover what nobody else will tell you about the business strategy that creates a writing career. 

Goode will be in lively conversation with Fred Turner, the author of five acclaimed books and Stanford’s Harry and Norman Chandler Professor of Communication, with a public Q&A, book signing, and refreshments to follow.
