Join the Stanford Alumni in Sustainability for their official kickoff event! Learn about how you can connect with fellow alumni who work or are interested in sustainability and hear an informative, invigorating talk from our faculty guest, Rosamond (Roz) Naylor, PhD '89, William Wrigley Professor, professor at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, senior fellow at the Woods Institute, at the Freeman Spogli Institute and professor, by courtesy, of economics and of earth system science.
Professor Naylor has been working on food systems, food security, and food policy throughout the world for over 30 years and founded Stanford’s Center on Food Security and the Environment in the mid-2000s. In this talk, Naylor will discuss the major challenges and opportunities for advancing a sustainable global food system over the past three decades, highlighting the potential role of “blue foods” – foods cultured and captured in marine and freshwater systems. She will draw on stories from her fieldwork in various countries and share insights on how the new Doerr School of Sustainability seeks to operate in the sustainable food space.
