Public speaking does not have to be a scary ordeal: don’t just survive—thrive!
At Public Speaking Boot Camp, we will work on organizing material, getting the most out of your voice, dealing with those butterflies in your stomach, and making a vital connection with your audience. No special preparation needed: come as you are and be ready to speak out!
Workshop is designed and led by: Thomas Freeland, advanced lecturer, Oral Communication Program
Details:
When: April 16 & 18 (Tuesday and Thursday), 4-6:30PM
Open to enrolled graduate students at any stage in any discipline or degree program. Postdocs will be accepted if space is available, but priority is given to graduate students.
Public Speaking Bootcamp is an in-person, two-part workshop. Session dates are Tuesday, April 16, and Thursday, April 18, from 4-6:30PM. Space is limited. Due to the workshop’s interactive format, full participation in all two sessions is required. Dinner will be served.
If you are accepted to this workshop, you must confirm your place by submitting a Student Participation Fee Agreement, which authorizes VPGE to charge $50 to your Stanford bill – only if you do not fully participate in the event.
