DESCRIPTION:Cardiometabolic syndrome (CMS) is a combination of metabolic dy
sfunctions that can greatly increase the risk of heart attack\, stroke\, ty
pe 2 diabetes\, and other diseases. An estimated 47 million people in the U
S are living with cardiometabolic disorders. Knowing how to decrease your r
isk can help you live a longer\, healthier life. \n\nIn this noontime webin
ar\, you will learn the signs and stages of CMS\, review the relationship b
etween blood pressure\, cholesterol\, glucose\, and excess weight as it rel
ates to this syndrome\, and discover how a healthy lifestyle that includes
regular exercise\, healthy diet\, regular sleep\, not smoking\, and stress
reduction can greatly reduce your risk. Research has shown that improving c
ardiometabolic health reduces individual risk factors and reduces overall m
ortality\, independent of weight.\n\nThis class will be recorded and a one-
week link to the recording will be shared with all registered participants.
Attend the live session or listen to the recording within one week to rece
ive incentive points.\n\nRequest disability accommodations and access info.
 \n\nInstructor: Sandra Tsai\, MD\, MPH\, is a board-certified internist who
currently practices at Stanford Health Care. She specializes in cardiometa
bolic conditions\, including elevated cholesterol\, elevated glucose\, and
hypertension.\n\nClass details are subject to change.
