DESCRIPTION:Discover how the simple practice of mindfulness can help transf
 orm your lifestyle habits to set the stage for a peaceful night's sleep. I
 n this three-session online class\, we will review core aspects of wellnes
 s—sound sleep\, stress reduction\, consistent exercise\, and healthy eat
 ing—and learn how the establishment of these fundamental activities affe
 cts each moment of our day and the quality of our sleep at night.\n\nWe wi
 ll study how the nervous system responds to stress\, often creating a stat
 e of perpetual vigilance\, and practice key skills that help restore balan
 ce and calm to the body and mind. You will experience guided meditations t
 hat will help you feel calmer and improve your ability to cope with the ty
 pical stressors of daily life. You will learn current guidelines for good 
 sleep hygiene and the most common causes of difficulty falling asleep or n
 ighttime wakefulness.\n\nClass activities will include goal setting for im
 plementing healthy sleep habits\, tracking sleep patterns\, and assessing 
 results\, in addition to mindful movement\, gentle yoga\, and guided medit
 ation. You will also have the opportunity to connect with classmates in a 
 "sleep pod" for peer support between class sessions.\n\nThis class will no
 t be recorded. Attendance requirement for incentive points - at least 80%

 \nInstructor: Patty McLucas is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) a
 nd Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) instructor who uses mindfulne
 ss practices\, sleep strategies\, and body-based techniques. Patty has led
  programs for Apple and Google\, and currently teaches mindfulness meditat
 ion classes for Stanford’s Cancer and Neuroscience Wellness programs.\n\
