Event Details:

Please join us for a special Research as Praxis Speaker Series event on Monday, March 3 from 12:00–1:15 pm at the Haas Center for Public Service in the DK Room (lunch will be served!) or over Zoom. Please RSVP to attend.

Drawing on a recent four-country study on how social movements learn and build knowledge, this talk will explore the importance of working with, alongside, and for social movements in times of rising inequality, conflict, and polarization. Conducted between 2018 and 2022, the study engaged leaders and activists from movements in four complex and contested contexts: Colombia, South Africa, Nepal, and Turkey.

The speaker will argue that it is at the point of praxis—where theory meets practice—that new and transformative ideas emerge. This "struggle knowledge" has the potential to change the world.
