This moderated discussion will explore a participatory action research study conducted by academics in collaboration with currently and formerly unhoused organizers from the San Francisco Coalition on Homelessness (SFCH), aimed at combatting the criminalization of homelessness. This discussion will not only cover the community-engaged research process—including study design, data collection, and analysis—but also highlight how the research itself became a tool for organizing, community education, and policy change.
