Stanford University’s School of Medicine Program on Research Rigor & Reproducibility (SPORR), will be hosting its 2nd school-wide Colloquium, on January 29, 2024, in Paul & Mildred Berg Hall, from 9 am to 1 pm. 

The Colloquium will focus on efforts of US medical schools and Stanford to improve and support research rigor and reproducibility, the foundation for “future-proofed” research. It will feature plenary talks and conversations with Dr. Geeta K. Swamy (Associate Vice President for Research, and Vice Dean for Scientific Integrity at Duke University) and Dr. Alexa T.  McCray (Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, former head of Clinicaltrials.gov), together with panel discussions with Stanford faculty and in-person attendees.

SPORR will also award up to three monetary awards to School of Medicine individuals, research teams or labs who have demonstrated high standards or creative approaches to Rigor and Reproducibility in research or education.

SPORR is part of Spectrum, Stanford’s Center for Clinical and Translational Research and Education, directed by Dr. Ruth O’Hara, Senior Associate Dean of Research, and supported by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences of the National Institutes of Health under Award Number UL1TR003142.
