Balancing humor, insight, and heart, the film is at once a celebration of a radical icon, a glimpse into queer life and culture in 1970s and 80s San Francisco; a meditation on the tensions inherent in revolutionary moments, and a powerful reflection on the lessons her work offers for today’s struggles for civil rights, justice, and equality.
