Event Details:

Dr. Yackar Mauzole is currently a postdoc at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego. Her main research interest is fronts (e.g., temperature, salinity, ocean color, etc.) occuring at the sea surface. Yackar's current research focuses on studying ocean processes in the Bay of Bengal, through the analysis of satellite observations in the region. Previously, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in satellite oceanography, at JPL/Caltech, where her research dealt with the dynamics of thermal fronts in the California Current System. During her PhD, she established global atlases of oceanic fronts that are persistent over time, based on satellite observations.
