DESCRIPTION:Schneider Fellows work at leading U.S. nongovernmental organiza
 tions (NGOs) in the sustainable energy field. The Fellows spend a quarter 
 or full-year tackling the world's economic\, environmental\, social\, and 
 technical challenges associated with past\, present\, and future approache
 s of harnessing energy resoureces to deliver energy services.\n\nThe Schne
 ider Fellows program was established in 2002 and has provided over 300 fel
 lowships with partner NGOs.\n\nSchneider Fellows receive a stipend of $10\
 ,000 for a 12-week fellowship. In addition\, funds are available for fello
 wship-related travel. The one-year program places fellows in a full-time r
 ole at a National Resource Defense Council location with competitive salar
 y and benefits.
