Schneider Fellows work at leading U.S. nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in the sustainable energy field. The Fellows spend a quarter or full-year tackling the world's economic, environmental, social, and technical challenges associated with past, present, and future approaches of harnessing energy resoureces to deliver energy services.

The Schneider Fellows program was established in 2002 and has provided over 300 fellowships with partner NGOs.

Schneider Fellows receive a stipend of $10,000 for a 12-week fellowship. In addition, funds are available for fellowship-related travel. The one-year program places fellows in a full-time role at a National Resource Defense Council location with competitive salary and benefits.
