Event Details:
Are you interested in learning about innovative policy and financial mechanisms designed to rapidly decarbonize the global economy? On May 24 from 4-5pm in P107, join SFI’s last monthly seminar of the academic year to meet our faculty and fellows and learn more about our ongoing research projects.
Uday Varadarajan, Precourt Energy Scholar and Senior Principal at RMI, provides an overview of the real political economy and equity barriers to rapidly mitigating US energy carbon emissions that led to the structuring of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), discuss how it addresses those barriers reasonably comprehensively with a focus on the electricity sector, and take stock of its implementation challenges and successes so far.
Open to all members of the Stanford community. If you plan to attend in person, RSVP is requested but not required. Virtual attendees, please register for Zoom access.
The year-end social that was to immediately follow Dr. Varadarajan’s talk is going to be rescheduled. Stay tuned for an updated date, time, and location!
