Event Details:
February is not just about Valentine’s Day flowers, candies, and chocolates - it is also American Heart Month! According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is the leading cause of death in the US. The good news is that adopting a heart-healthy lifestyle can help you reduce your risk of heart-related problems, even if you have a history of heart disease or have already experienced a heart attack.
Join us for a free webinar focused on how to keep your heart strong now and long into the future. You will learn different risk factors for heart disease like chronic diseases and high cholesterol and how to assess and manage those risks. We will explore the four components of heart health – exercise, nutrition, sleep, and stress – and practical steps you can take right now to build hearthealthy habits. It’s never too late to start taking care of your heart.
This class will be recorded and a temporary link to the recording will be shared with all registered participants, which will be active for one week. Stanford University benefits-eligible employees must attend the live session in order to receive BeWell incentive points.
Instructor: Molly Vatis is an Omada health coach with a background in personal training and motivational interviewing. She completed her BA at Connecticut College and has pursued continuing education through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute.
