Event Details:

Regional-, state-, and city-level efforts are essential in our fight against climate change, especially in the field of energy. Stanford University is committed to helping by integrating its students into energy and climate ecosystems in the West through the Shultz Energy Fellowships program, an energy-related summer fellowship program for undergraduate and graduate students.

Named in honor of former Secretary of State George P. Shultz, one of the most widely admired American public servants of the past half-century, the program offers a suite of paid, high-impact, energy-related public service fellowships for Stanford students in California, Colorado, Utah, and Hawaii during the summer.

Join the last session of the Explore Energy Seminar this quarter to hear from four 2025 Shultz Energy Fellows, the Shultz Energy Fellowship Program Manager Katie Taflan, and the Director for the Bill Lane Center for the American West Bruce Cain via small breakout groups. You will have the chance to connect with these all-stars during small breakout groups during the session.

Former Shultz Energy Fellow speakers include:

  • Eddie Chen, California Energy Commission
  • Kelsey Freeman, California Energy Commission
  • Henry Daniels-Koch, Western Energy Interstate Board
  • Cariana Morales, California Public Utilities Commission
