Signing Ceremony for the Establishment of the Taiwan Resource Center for Chinese Studies

Please join us for a signing ceremony to commemmorate the establishment of the Taiwan Resource Center for Chinese Studies (TRCCS). Opening remarks will be delivered by NCL Director-General Shu-hsien Tseng, University Librarian Michael A. Keller, Director-General Ming-Chi Scott Lai of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco, Yi-Ting Chung of the History Department, and Prof. Dafna Zur of the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures. After this, Director-General Tseng and University Librarian Michael Keller will formally sign the agreement between Stanford University and the National Central Library of Taiwan, inaugurating the Center. A short reception will follow, with tea and light snacks provided.

The Taiwan Resource Center for Chinese Studies is a cooperative project intended to promote international exchange in the fields of Chinese studies and Taiwan studies. Through this project, the National Central Library of Taiwan (NCL) has partnered with over forty libraries at worldwide research institutions, including Stanford University. As part of the cooperative agreement, the NCL will provide TRCCS partner institutions with annual donations of print and audio-visual materials published in Taiwan as well as IP-based access to shared e-resources. These resources will become part of Stanford's East Asia Library general collection, designated as a distinct collection in the library online catalog and website.
