Event Details:

Join the Silicon Valley Archives in welcoming David Wolinsky, Lulu Lamer, and Chris Kramer as they discuss The Hivemind Swarmed: Conversations On Gamergate, The Aftermath, And The Quest For A Safer Internet on November 5, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.

Join author and oral historian David Wolinsky for a panel discussion on The Hivemind Swarmed, featuring industry veterans and narrators Lulu LaMer (System Shock, Spec Ops: The Line, Borderlands) and Chris Kramer (Fortnite, Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat). This panel will continue the book's examination of the ramifications of Gamergate within the videogame industry and our broader digital culture. Since 2014, Wolinsky has conducted hundreds of interviews—preserved by Stanford—that explore how the conflicts stemming from Gamergate resonate across and parallel other fields, including TV, film, VFX, architecture criticism, and supply-chain activism. Reflecting on themes from the book and beyond, the panel will delve into the complex intersections of gaming, media, and online harassment, posing critical questions about where we are now and where we are headed. A copy of the book can be purchased here.
