SJW Presents: Anat Cohen Quartetinho

Sponsored by

This event is over.

Event Details:

Anat Cohen Quartetinho — a “little quartet” as the name playfully suggests —brings a vibrant intimacy to the stage. Led by the Grammy-nominated clarinetist Anat Cohen, the group blends their love for diverse musical styles into a tapestry of melody and color that draws upon their collective experience with jazz, Brazilian music, groove styles, and chamber music.

Cohen’s expressive clarinet weaves through the intricate textures created by pianist/accordionist Vitor Gonçalves, bassist Tal Mashiach, and the multi-talented James Shipp on vibes, percussion, and even analog synth. Expect playful improvisation, moments of joyful melancholy, and a deep connection between the musicians, all culminating in a captivating and nuanced performance.

This event is part of the 2024 Stanford Jazz Festival.
