Event Details:

Stanford Student Space Initiative is hosting Dr. Margaret Race from the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute at 5 pm at the Lane History Corner building #200

Dr. Race received her Ph.D. in Zoology from UC Berkeley, used to be a humbio lecturer and RF here on campus, and currently focuses on planetary protection: making sure that missions to the solar system do not inadvertently bring Earth-based microbes along, or return any harmful organisms back home.

She’ll be speaking on the safety of the Mars Sample Return mission, and about broader space policy and astrobiology questions — super accessible to anyone and everyone! And there’ll be boba.
