Special, Unique, and Rare: Exploration

Sponsored by

This event is over.

MARCH 11th 2-4 PM GREEN LIBRARY

Event Details:

Over the centuries, with motives usually more complex than wanderlust, explorers set out for parts unknown (to them, at least) in search of trade routes, resources, and territorial expansion. "Explorer" is a broad category - the ranks include indigenous peoples in the Americas, Polynesian sailors, voyagers from Asia, and others, whose sophisticated knowledge of geography and navigation pre-dated any contact with European travelers. Explorers shared knowledge and resources when they traveled...and just as often they brought scourges of disease, displacement, and exploitation to the peoples and the environments that were there before their arrival.

Join us for this month’s Special, Unique and Rare popup exhibit as we consider EXPLORATION from a wide diversity of perspectives.  Drop by Hohbach 123 (Silicon Valley Archive classroom, Green Library) any time between 2-4 PM on Tuesday, March 11th.
