DESCRIPTION:Stanford Libraries is excited to welcome to campus the Estonian
  musical duo Puuluup\, which mixes surrealism\, modern folklore\, and the 
 talharpa instrument with effect blocks and loopers. This “neo-zombie-pos
 t-folk\,” award-winning duo has an unmistakable music style\, great ente
 rtaining abilities\, and a sense of humor that has brought them to around 
 40 countries and big venues around the world—including the Eurovision So
 ng Contest finals. \n\nTheir concert pairs the acoustic tone of the talhar
 pa with electronically amplified echoes\, knocks\, creaks\, and crackles. 
 From seemingly rudimental equipment\, the rhythms that they loop and the m
 elodies that they harmonize are immediate crowd-pleasers. Their lyrics com
 bine many languages as well as Puuluup’s own made-up vernacular\, being 
 mostly abstract and open to different interpretations. All this is paired 
 with their own weird choreography\, which they invite you to join in on!\n
 \nThere will also be a screening earlier in the day at 3 pm of a new docum
 entary Puuluup: Cables in the Car about the band.\n\nThe concert is free a
 nd open to the public. Due to limited capacity\, registration is recommend
