The Deans of the School of Medicine, the School of Engineering, and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability are hosting the Synthetic Biology for Sustainability Symposium on May 7, 2025, from 12pm – 6:30pm at Paul Brest Hall, 555 Salvatierra Walk. This symposium will focus on how we might tackle some of the biggest challenges in sustainability using some of the newest innovations in synthetic biology. Our understanding of what it takes to sustain life on Earth and of how we might synthesize entirely new molecules have both improved at an unprecedented rate in recent years. This exciting event will bring together leaders, experts, and researchers to explore innovative synthetic biology solutions to sustain life on Earth. The event will also showcase synthetic biology in sustainability projects happening across Stanford.
