Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign Presents

Event Details:

The Stanford Biodesign Policy Program and the Council for Innovation Promotion (C4IP) are hosting a roundtable discussion focused on the role intellectual property law and policy play in supporting innovation and technological disruption, particularly in the healthcare sector. Critical areas that are being hotly debated include the extent to which medical devices and diagnostics are eligible for patent protection, how much patent validity can be challenged after patents are granted, and whether patent rights should be extremely limited for vaccines or critical therapies. The impact of these policy decisions could shape innovation for a long time to come.
