This event is over.

Event Details:

The global takeoff of Bollywood in recent decades has sparked a conversation on the distinct style, storytelling, and substance of the Hindi Film Industry. Beyond the tropes of a country obsessed with films, however, is the truth that the Film Industry is also a flashpoint for multiple social, cultural, economic, and political pressures in India. How have the pressures on the industry presented themselves in recent years, and how have they informed the representation of stories and peoples on the screen?

Join for a conversation with National Award-winning director and screenwriter Neeraj Ghaywan [Juice (2017)] and Nandini Ramnath, Film Editor at the Scroll.in, to understand the socio-politics of the Indian film industry on February 28th from 6 - 7 PM Pacific.

Organized through the CSA-Markaz fellowship program.
