 am R. Kenan\, Jr. Professor of Physics\, Molecular and Cellular Physiology
 \, and Energy Science and Engineering at Stanford University\, is a Nobel 
 laureate and former U.S. Secretary of Energy. Currently\, he chairs the Fa
 culty Advisory Council of the Stanford Sustainability Accelerator.\n\nAs U
 .S. Secretary of Energy from 2009 to 2013\, Dr. Chu initiated several impa
 ctful programs\, including ARPA-E\, the Energy Innovation Hubs\, and the C
 lean Energy Ministerial meetings. He was instrumental in recruiting top sc
 ientists and engineers to the Department of Energy and played a key role i
 n addressing the BP Oil leak.
