Hosted by BeWell in partnership with the Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation, the Cardinal Walk is returning for its 17th year. 

Join the annual tradition as we take a collective break in our day to celebrate connection, healthy habits, and the well-being of our community. This year's event is carnival-themed, and there will be games and entertainment to add to the fun before the walk begins. 

Employees working remotely on August 10 are welcome to join the livestream. 

Event schedule

• 11:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. – Festivities at Stanford Stadium (including games, snacks, and a T-shirt giveaway)
• 11:45 a.m. – 11:50 p.m. – Remarks from leaders 
• 11:50 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Fitness warm-up (there will be a seated version of the dance demo)
• 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. –  A collective one-mile walk (or roll!) 

Not working on the main campus on August 10?

Employees working remotely on August 10 are encouraged to participate in the livestream from 11:15 a.m. to noon PDT. Use this toolkit to plan a remote walk, connect with your nearby colleagues, and organize your walk.

Employees who don't work on the Stanford campus may take a free bus to and from Stanford Redwood City (SRWC), SLAC, and Stanford Research Park. See the schedules to plan your trip.

It's more than a walk.

Many people in our community may be unable to participate in the walk itself, but all are welcome to participate in the event. The Cardinal Walk course is flat and step-free. You do not have to complete the entire course. Cheering on others from the sidelines is also participating, and you can spread encouragement by participating in a cheer group.

Whether you attend the on-campus walk or participate remotely, you can earn 1,000 points toward your $560 BeWell incentive. Sign in to your BeWell account, go to "rewards," and complete the attestation form by August 31 to earn points.
