Tiffany Sia will present The Sojourn, a work-in-progress film, an action-less martial arts epic reframed as a landscape film, followed by a conversation with Jean Ma.
Tiffany Sia is an artist, filmmaker, and writer. Sia is the director of the experimental short films Never Rest/Unrest (2020), Do Not Circulate (2021), and What Rules The Invisible (2022), which have premiered at Toronto International Film Festival, New York Film Festival, MoMA Doc Fortnight, and elsewhere. Her solo exhibition “Slippery When Wet” debuted in 2021 at Artists Space in New York upon the publication of her artist book Too Salty Too Wet (2020), a sequel to the chapbook Salty Wet (2019), published by Inpatient Press. Her texts have appeared in October, Film Quarterly, LUX Moving Image, and more. Sia has an upcoming book of essays due to be published by Primary Information in 2024. Her work is currently in the show “Signals: How Video Transformed the World” at the Museum of Modern Art, and her essay, “Never Rest/Unrest: Emerging Time” appears in the show’s catalog.
