DESCRIPTION:The PEER PBEE framework enabled probabilistic seismic hazard\, 
 risk and recovery evaluation of individual elements (buildings\, bridges) 
 of the built environment. In research\, we tackle regional hazard\, risk a
 nd recovery problems using an extension of this framework. In practice\, s
 eismic hazard models are widely accepted (and are continually refined). Re
 gional risk models are also used\, but to a lesser extent. Regional recove
 ry models are knocking at the door\, driven by simulation environments lik
 e the SimCenter tools pipeline or the IN-CORE integrated app.\n\nAcceptanc
 e of resilience models in practice is stalled at the validation gate. We n
 eed to do this\, but how? The scope is large: technical\, social\, economi
 c\, environmental… The time scale is long\, on par with those of the bui
 lt inventory evolution and the technological revolutions. Assessing the pr
 edictive ability of regional resilience models is key.\n\nTo move forward\
 , we must define the validation process and acceptance criteria for region
 al disaster resilience models. Professor Stojadinovic propose using concep
 ts of integral and separate effects testing from the technical side\, inte
 rnal and cross-model tests from the economic side and data reproducibility
  from the social side\, Professor Stojadinovic advocate rational and feasi
 ble acceptance criteria\, and will look forward to a productive discussion
 .
