 essor and Associate Chair of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences\, Director o
 f the Center on Stress and Health\, and Medical Director of the Center for
  Integrative Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine\, where he
  has been an academic faculty member since 1975. Areas of Dr. Spiegel's cl
 inical and research experience include psycho-oncology\, stress and health
 \, pain control\, psycho-neuroendocrinology\, sleep\, and hypnosis\, His r
 esearch has been supported by organizations such as the National Institute
  of Mental Health\, the National Cancer Institute\, the National Institute
  on Aging\, the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health\,
  the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation\, the Fetzer Institute\
 , the Dana Foundation for Brain Sciences\, and the Nathan S. Cummings Foun
 dation. Across a career of over 50 years\, Dr. Spiegel has published 13 bo
 oks and close to 600 journal articles and book chapters.
