Join us for an insightful talk featuring Dr. Junko Takeda (Stanford PhD, 2006), Professor of History at Syracuse University and Chair of the Maxwell School’s Signature Program in Citizenship and Civic Engagement (CCE). Her primary research and teaching interests include early modern citizenship, revolutions, migration, diaspora, and displacement. Her additional interests include Asian-American and Zainichi Korean histories. Professor Takeda will speak about her memoir-in-progress which explores bi-ethnicity, Japanese empire in Korea, and her childhood experiences as a formerly undocumented Korean-Japanese immigrant.
