We invite you to join the Department of African and African American Studies (DAAAS) to the Urban Ghana Photography Exhibition (details below).
The Urban Ghana Photography Exhibition curated by Dr. Katie Dieter, will feature photographs from students who particpated in Stanford University's Bing Overseas Study Program Global Seminar "Introduction to Interdisciplinary African Urban Studies" taught by Professor Ato Quayson.

This exhibition, curated by Dr. Katie Dieter, Director of Advanced Studies and Community Engaged Learning in DAAAS, seeks to examine the urban landscape of Ghana by engaging themes of place, identity, spatial traversal, and belonging, reflecting a critical understanding of how city life in Ghana can be both routine and remarkable. Through their photographs, these students reflect on the complexities of like in Ghana's urban landscape and invite us to reconsider the narratives cities hold and futures they shape.
This exhibition is co-sponsored by Bing Overseas Study Programs, the Department of Art and Art History, and the d.school.
Visitor Information: The McMurtry Building is located on Stanford campus at 355 Roth Way. Visitor parking is available in designated areas and payment is managed through ParkMobile. Alternatively, take the Caltrain to Palo Alto Transit Center and hop on the free Stanford Marguerite Shuttle.
